New Year’s Resolutions
So, I realized that the last couple years I haven’t set any New Year’s Resolutions (mainly because I know I’ll forget them). However, in today’s world, that’s why we have such things as blogs (do remind us). So, here they are…

I realize that there are a million & one blogs out there, but I’ve been slacking ever since I graduated. I had aspirations of writing weekly blog posts but kind of just stopped once I got a job. I am hoping to design a new blog that will actually make me feel obligated to write in it because it looks good enough.
I plan on writing posts about design issues, usability issues, beer reviews, music reviews and quite frankly anything else that comes to mind. Granted, I’m sure most of the world won’t be interested in reading what I have to say, but I want to do it for myself. I’ve always enjoyed writing and it’s something I’d like to do more of. - Find more freelance work
I’ve been slacking lately in trying to find new freelance work. Right now, I truly believe that the only way I’d be able to move out & get my own place is if I can find freelance work (stupid money). Not only is it a money issue, but I enjoy doing work on the side. It keeps my creativeness from going stale. Plus, you can only work on so many different projects when you’re at a company that isn’t a design firm. - Attend some social media conferences
I’ve been meaning to do this for a while, but haven’t had the time/money. This year, I’d like to try & attend some conferences and network a bit. Only problem is that most of them are in NY and I’m in Boston. - Program some more
Being a computer science minor, I’ve always had fun programming things. Since I started working, I’ve kind of stopped doing it. I’d like to get back into Java programming as well as learn some new languages.
There you go. Let’s see if I can stay true to these resolutions in the wonderful year of 2009.
