Ux Design: Common Excise Traps
Found a list of some traps that designers get caught up in when designing user interfaces & defining the user experience. Think of this as the 9 commandments of what NOT to do when it comes to UI/UX design. Take some notes!
- Don’t force users to go to another window to perform a function that affects the current window.
- Don’t force users to remember where they put things in the hierarchical file system.
- Don’t force users to resize windows unnecessarily.
- Don’t force users to move windows.
- Don’t force users to reenter their personal settings.
- Don’t force users to fill fields to satisfy some arbitrary measure of completeness.
- Don’t force users to ask permission.
- Don’t ask users to confirm their actions.
- Don’t let a user’s actions result in an error.
